Max had a very difficult orthopedic surgery

Updated: Aug 13

Max is recovering from a very difficult orthopedic surgery to correct his badly deformed leg. Many other organizations would have just amputated his leg and called it a day. We wanted to do everything we could to give this sweet pup a normal life.

Dr. Neihaus at Jacksonville Veterinary Surgery and Orthopedics did the extremely complicated surgery using some very advanced, state of the art tools, including a CT scan and 3D reconstruction of his leg prior to starting surgery. Dr. Neihaus then built custom made tools to cut, rotate, and align the bones before implanting a brace. He is an amazing surgeon, and he has taken care of many of our FUR babies over the years.

Max is our third very expensive major medical procedure ($4,000+) in four weeks. We never know what to expect when we take these pups into FUR. We just know they need help, and we do everything we can to help them. Please consider a tax deductible donation to help us save more lives!

Sick and injured animals need help fast. Every donation helps, but Monthly donors give us flexibility to respond immediately when there is an emergency. When there is a hoarding case or a hurricane, a dog with a gunshot wound or a cruelty case, we have to act quickly. We don't have time to do a fundraiser, and wait for those funds to get to us. Your monthly donation can help us save lives again and again.
